A Dive Into Picture Books (Agent Unicorn, Fridays Are For Churros)

These 30 minute presentations consist of a brief intro in to my life and how I became an author and illustrator, followed by a behind the scenes dive into how a book is made from idea to publication, where I show; first drafts, sketches, and book dummies. We read a picture book, play a collaborative drawing game and end with a Q&A, and book signing.

A Dive Into Graphic Novels (Pencil & Eraser Series, Sama Crushes The Code)

These 45 minute presentations consist of a brief intro in to my life and how I became an author and illustrator, followed by a behind the scenes dive into how graphic novels are made from idea, character development, sketches and final art to publication, while introducing graphic novel vocabulary. We then create a 4 panel comic story together where the students can draw along if they wish. The presentation ends with a Q&A, and book signing.

Let's Make Comics! (Intro Into The World of Graphic Novels)

Meant for small group up to 30

This 45 min workshop is an introduction into the world of graphic novels. We'll discus the parts of a comic, the steps to go from manuscript to sketches to final art, and more. Students will warm up by drawing character expressions. Then we'll work on making our own 4 panel comics. I will provide tips and tricks to avoid issues along the way.
